A seasoned public relations specialist who is enthusiastic about India’s opportunities in a global era of storytelling and who has a solid understanding of the media, entertainment, and cultural scene in India is what we are seeking for. India is one of the most interesting places for Netflix globally due to the enormous range of storylines and the incredible talent in front of and behind the camera. The Netflix India team is funding Indian scripts, producers, directors, writers, performers, and production companies nationwide. This candidate will contribute to demonstrating Netflix’s growing support for the Indian creative ecosystem and community, and they’ll do so by using imaginative storytelling on both a commercial and consumer level.
A candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven workplace who has an entrepreneurial, creative, strategic, and business-savvy mindset is what we’re searching for. Someone who appreciates the challenge of managing several projects at once, and who can establish themselves as a reliable advisor to both our international teams and Netflix India’s executive team. It’s important to have excellent writing abilities, a willingness to learn quickly, and the capacity to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
The candidate, who would answer to the director of communications for India, is anticipated to have 10 to 15 years of experience working in the media, entertainment, corporate, or agency sectors. Candidates with experience working in the entertainment industry and those accustomed to a fast-paced atmosphere that demands agility, altruism, and the capacity to manage several tasks are of particular interest.
The candidate must
- Have a global mindset and good business acumen, preferably with experience of working for multinational brands.
- Have excellent news judgement as well as very strong writing and communications skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Love entertainment and the prospect of delivering stories from all over the world to people all over the world.
- Proactively identify, map and preempt issues that could enhance or hurt the Netflix brand
- Manage and maintain exceptional relationships with business, financial and trade media, as well as key industry influencers – becoming a great Netflix advocate with these audiences
- Serve as trusted advisor and partner to the leadership team.
- Write and shape our key corporate communications materials.
- Be an all-rounder with an ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships inside and outside the organisation across different time zones.
- Be deeply familiar with, and/or enthusiastically curious about, the entertainment sector, technology, innovation and media.
- Be able to serve as a company spokesperson
- Be a self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is eager to try those out.
- Has a strong bias-to-action and can change course, be scrappy and get things done on short timeframes

- Succinct communicator and great writer.
- Flourishes in a ‘hands on’ role, adding value at different levels. Is strong on detail and highly organized.
